Dattebayo Fansubs Donates $6400 To Doctors Without Borders
Dattebayo is proud to announce that it is making a $6379.95 donation to
Doctors Without Borders. This donation was made possible by the contributions of our fans during the January fundraising drive. Dattebayo had expected to raise $2500 within one month of opening donations. This goal was reached in four hours. In total, $9926.77 was raised during the fundraising event.
Dattebayo is also happy to announce that the new server that it raised money for has been in service for nearly five weeks, and has increased Dattebayo's hosting capacity to a maximum of 120,000 concurent clients, up from the 60,000 of our previous server.
Dattebayo would especially like to extend its thanks to Erin T., who donated an incredibly generous $250.00. This donation was the largest single donation amount received in the fundraiser. Dattebayo also had numerous $100.00 donations that helped us reach a total that completely blew away our expectations. Dattebayo would also like to thank Adam M. and Lam N., who donated $0.53 and $0.45 respectively. After fees, this netted a total of $0.34. Thanks guys!
Due to the tremendous success of the fundraising drive, Dattebayo made the decision to buy a more powerful server than it originally planned, and bought the absolute best hardware available for the application.
For those interested in the tech specs, it is a dual-CPU Xeon 5140 at 2.33 ghz, 4gb ram, 2x320 GB SATA Segate Hard Drive, 3Ware SATA Raid Controller, and a SuperMicro 1U Server Case.
